Welcome to Crossed Arms. We are a UK-based discovery and education platform for the esports creative industry. We value transparency and the protection of your creative identity.This policy explains how Crossed Arms Ltd. ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares your personal data when you use our platform (the "Service").

2. The Data We Collect

We collect data in two ways: information you provide to us, and information we curate from public professional sources.

A. Information You Provide
- Account Data: Name, email address, username, password, and age verification (16+).

- Profile Data: Social media handles, portfolio links (e.g., Behance, ArtStation), professional roles, and biography.

- Submitted Content: Thumbnails of your work, project descriptions, and "behind-the-scenes" context.

- Consent Data: Your explicit choices regarding marketing and third-party data sharing.

B. Information from Public Sources (The Curation Model)To facilitate discovery, we may index professional information available in the public domain (e.g., public portfolios on ArtStation, credits on esports broadcasts).

- Legal Basis: Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f) UK GDPR). Our legitimate interest is creating a centralized professional directory to help creatives be discovered.

- Your Right: If we have curated your data and you wish to be removed, you may claim your profile or request deletion at any time.

3. How We Use Your Data

We process your data for specific purposes:

Platform Operation: Hosting your profile, displaying thumbnails, and enabling search.
Contract: Essential to provide the service you signed up for.

Curation & Discovery: Indexing public work to showcase talent to the industry.
Legitimate Interest: Benefit to the creative community and hiring ecosystem.

Internal Promotion: Featuring your work in our newsletters or "Best of" reels.
Contract (License Grant): As agreed in our Terms & Conditions.


Talent Database (Monetization): Sharing your profile with paid Members (teams/publishers).
Consent: We only share your contact details if you explicitly opt-in.

Legal Compliance: Verifying age (16+) and responding to takedown notices.
Legal Obligation: Compliance with UK Law.

4. The "Bridge" Model & Third-Party Sharing

Crucial Notice Regarding Liability: Crossed Arms acts as a discovery bridge.

- We do not sell your data to data brokers or ad networks.

- Talent Database: If you opt-in to be visible to Hiring Partners (e.g., game publishers, esports teams), we make your profile data available to them.

- Controller-to-Controller Transfer: Once a Hiring Partner exports or accesses your data, they become a separate, independent Data Controller of that copy of your data. Crossed Arms is not responsible for their subsequent use, storage, or security of your data. You should review the privacy policy of any organization that contacts you.

5. International Data Transfers

We are a global platform headquartered in the UK.

- Storage: Your data is stored on secure servers on Webflow & Google platforms

- Global Access: Your public profile is visible worldwide. By creating a profile, you acknowledge this global visibility.

- Transfers to Partners: If we transfer data to service providers (e.g., email hosts) outside the UK/EEA, we ensure protection via the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or equivalent adequacy decisions.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Live Data: We keep your profile data as long as your account is active.

Deletion Protocol: If you request deletion, we remove your data from the live platform within 5 working days.

Backups: Encrypted backups may retain residual data for up to 30 days for disaster recovery purposes before being permanently deleted.

7. Your Rights (UK & EU GDPR)

You have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.

Rectification: Correct inaccurate data (you can do this in your profile settings).

Erasure: Ask us to delete your data (Right to be Forgotten).

Object: Object to our processing of your curated public data.
